The body positive movement has been around since 1996 (see: http://www.thebodypositive.org/). I believe the body positive movement is a two-sided coin that is both positive and negative. From this movement, I agree that YES WE MUST LOVE WHO WE ARE, AS WE ARE, AT TIME MOMENT! However, if who we are is unhealthy, then we must make a plan to become healthy. I am not talking strictly about the scale.
There is nothing more annoying that working out only to find out that you have only lost 4 pounds. Seriously, what is going on! I’m killing myself to be able to lose weight! I had to measure myself for my weekly check. Oh, that makes sense…I’m losing inches. I don’t feel so bad now. One thing my husband has been telling me repeatedly is that progress takes time. It’s not
I took a little break from writing for two days. Sunday was the rest day for Insanity Max:30 and church for us. Unfortunately, Princess woke up with a headache and we had to miss church. Sunday was spent resting, watching all 4 Pirates of the Caribbean with my boys (Hey now, we have to freshen up for the release of the new one this weekend), Princess spent the day watching
“You’re the reason you’re fat.” Yep, you read that right. “You’re the reason you’re overweight, unhealthy, and not fit.” That, my dear friends, is the harsh reality that I had to come to understand today. I’m not talking about the person reading this; I’m talking about the writer writing this…me. You see, for years I’ve been making excuses and placing blame elsewhere. For approximately 11 years, since my oldest is
I could not sleep well last night! It was 0200 before I was able to get to sleep. I was still exhausted when I woke up at 0730. I realized today that I did Day 2 and Day 3 out of sync. I had to get back on track this morning by doing Tabata Power again. Shaun T kept saying that in Insanity Max:30 we don’t lift weights, we lift
So the soreness was not as bad this morning but oh jumpin’ Jehoshaphat! I think Shaun T tried to kill me during this workout-Tabata Power! Dear Lord, who ever suggested tricep dips for those who do no have triceps are insane. I have NO arm muscles. I can’t do a push-up to save my life. Tricep dips were a try but… well… let me put it this way… THANK GOD!
Today, I woke up so sore that I thought I had been attacked by 1,000 ninjas in my sleep. My back and legs beg me to stay seated and not more. I pushed through this morning’s workout. I’m adding an extra workout in today: yoga with my daughter. Today’s workouts: Insanity Max: 30 I could not complete the push-up punch I tried to do the regular ones, but I just
Mother’s Day was it. I had finally had it. I’m tired of not having the energy to be active with my kids in the afternoons. Sure, I teach all day and do my own homework at night, but I want to be able to more with my kids. I want to be able to go for a walk in the evenings, ride bikes, and play ball with them. My weight
